‘Arlington Fanfare’ is a second-take on seeking to capture the great Americana spirit of our country’s past great composers from Gershwin to Copland to Bernstein. In a fanfare-like style, canonic rounds are used with interpolating, quiet Snare Drum figures and woodwind counterlines. The serioso theme itself reflects and gives the listener pause in harkening back images and feelings with music that has a quiet, earnest nature and gives added gravitas towards the notion of what such music serves to remind us all: our nation’s past heroes – fallen and wounded for which we must be eternally vigilant in remembering their purpose, and that their mission should not die in vain.
